Luminescent Moonstone & Gold Ring
$1,400.00
This rare gem quality moonstone is mined in India and is the most sought after moonstone in the world. The subtle interplay of light with layers of albite crystals in this pale and delicate stone is called adularescence*, named after Mount Adular in Switzerland, where it was once mined. The overall effects resemble the moonlight, and these refractions were once believed to be benevolent spirits. The moonstone marks the 13th wedding anniversary.
*Adularescence is an optical phenomenon that is produced in gemstones such as moonstones. Adularescence is the metallic iridescence originating from below the surface of a stone, that occurs when light is reflected between layers of minerals.
